Welcome to the first post of my new and sparkly blog. It's a work in progress at the moment as I master how to create the layouts, upload photos etc. Over the coming months I will be blogging my overland trip from the UK to Australia and New Zealand. This will take around 9 months or so (or until my money runs out!) and will take in over 20 countries, phew!!! I am sure there will be lots and lots to blog, hopefully accompanied by some amazing pictures.
For the first 6 and a bit months I will be travelling with a company called Odyssey Overland (see link) and there will be 20+ of us. Next weekend I will be going down to London for a bit of a pre-departure 'meet-up'. This will be the first time that I get to meet some of the people I will be travelling with and I am really looking forward to it.
The past couple of weeks I have been busy organising my vaccinations, insurance and starting to get some stuff from the kit list. My most prized purchase so far is my super duper 'arctic extreme' sleeping bag which is so amazingly warm, soft and lovely that I am already tempted to start using it! (I will post a photo soon!).
